Peer Portrait Female

I sketched the subject on paper with vine charcoal and further detail was added using India ink, water, and paintbrushes. I finalized the piece with white conté, mainly focusing on adding definition to the subject's cheeks and the whites of her eyes. I spent about 2 hours on the portrait in class with direction from my drawing professor.

Helmrick

I attend the University of the Incarnate Word and my major is graphic design. My projected graduation year is 2028. Whenever I create my pieces, I aim to make them abstract and unique and I commonly use nature as inspiration. I often struggle with realism so I use simpler details that hint at something bigger when combined, rather than trying to create something hyperrealistic.
