About the UIW Faculty Featured Artist
A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Miguel Cortinas received his BFA in Printmaking from Texas A&M University, Kingsville and completed the requirements for the MFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has been with the Art Department of the University of the Incarnate Word since 2001. He has exhibited locally, regionally and nationally, including the Laredo Center for the Arts, The Art Museum of South Texas, and Amerika Haus, Stuttgart, Germany. My work explores a range of human values and emotions, including those related to mortality, separation, and social injustice.
