This piece was originally created as a part of my high school senior year AP Art Portfolio, in which my theme was to combine elements of nature with portraits in a symbolic way. This self portrait in particular can be said so show how there is always some sort of light within the darkness you may face in life, much like the popular phrase "In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present."
